About The Position

The Apprentice Diesel Tech-Mechanic provides accurate and efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a reasonable and responsible manner, consistent with company and industry standards. The role involves working in a service-focused team environment, completing repairs safely and efficiently, and helping maintain a clean and safe workplace. The position may require flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, and work in both interior and exterior conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without accommodation.
Investment in own tools.
Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service that exceeds customer expectations.
Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results.
Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
Help maintain the safety of customers and employees.
