About The Position

The Apprentice Diesel Tech-Mechanic provides accurate and efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related mechanical or electrical equipment. The role includes performing diagnostic tests, interpreting results, developing repair plans, and communicating those plans to the Service Advisor. Repairs must be completed safely, effectively, and efficiently while meeting company and industry standards. The technician also helps maintain a clean and safe work environment, recommends other TA services during inspection reviews, and supports the safety of customers and employees. The position requires willingness to learn and participate in education and training programs, flexible availability, and investment in personal tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
• Ability to meet the requirements for the needed physical tasks, with or without accommodation.
• Investment in own tools.
• Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results.
• Develop repair plans and communicate them to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently within company and industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
• Help maintain the safety of customers and employees.
