About The Position

TravelCenters of America is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Tech-Mechanic to provide accurate and efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a reasonable and responsible manner, in accordance with company and industry standards. The role involves working in a team-oriented environment focused on exceeding customer expectations, communicating repair plans, completing repairs safely and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position pays $17.00–$20.40 per hour, depending on factors including responsibilities, job requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge through education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
• Ability to meet the physical task requirements, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in a team environment focused on exceeding customer expectations.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results.
• Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Complete repairs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services to customers as part of the inspection review process.
• Help maintain the safety of customers and employees.
