The Electrical Service Technician I is an entry-level, client-facing field role supporting troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and servicing of electrical systems under the direct supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician. The position assists with service calls across commercial, industrial, and operational environments, helping identify electrical issues, perform basic repairs, and support installations. The role also involves professional interaction with customers, safe and timely service delivery, and developing foundational problem-solving skills while progressing through required apprenticeship training and hours. The role is primarily field-based, with job sites varying daily according to service needs. Work may take place indoors or outdoors in active construction environments, operational facilities, and customer-occupied spaces. Conditions can include extreme temperatures, noise, dust, confined spaces, and exposure to electrical systems and equipment. Schedules may vary, including early mornings, extended hours, occasional overtime, and occasional weekends. The position typically follows a full-time Monday-through-Friday schedule, with start times determined by job-site and service requirements. Daily travel to multiple customer locations may be required. The role requires physical activity including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, standing and moving for extended periods, climbing, working at heights or in confined spaces, and using tools and equipment. Required PPE includes a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, work boots, and other site-specific gear. A high school diploma or GED, an active Apprentice Electrician License, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record are required. Candidates must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program. Two or more years of electrical, construction, or related field experience is preferred. Documentation or a letter verifying on-the-job training hours may help determine starting salary. The position is full-time and offers competitive compensation, paid vacation and holidays, health, dental, and vision insurance, school tuition assistance, career advancement opportunities, training and development programs, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
