About The Position

Apprentice Automotive Service Technician wanted for Kal Tire in Barrhead, AB. This role is for a 4th Year Registered Apprentice who is confident performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, enjoy hands-on mechanical work, and be committed to completing their apprenticeship training. As part of the team, you will work alongside experienced technicians, develop advanced skills, gain exposure to the latest tools and technology, deliver exceptional service to customers, and build a rewarding future in the automotive industry. The role offers a structured, consistent schedule within a safety-focused and supportive environment. You will apply and expand your mechanical knowledge on diverse passenger and light truck vehicles, perform diagnostics, inspections, and repairs with increasing independence, and receive ongoing mentorship towards Journeyperson certification. A strong emphasis is placed on safety through strict adherence to PPE and work protocols, and contributing to a collaborative team that values quality workmanship, continuous learning, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Registered Apprentice in an Automotive Service Technician Program
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and confidence performing repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Physical capability to work in a demanding environment, including heavy lifting and frequent movement.
  • A safety-focused mindset with a positive, respectful, and professional attitude.
  • Legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs, maintenance services, and inspections on passenger and light truck vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
  • Complete wheel alignments, shock and strut replacements, and front-end repairs.
  • Remove, install, repair, and balance tires safely and efficiently.
  • Perform vehicle diagnostics and accurately identify mechanical concerns.
  • Operate and maintain alignment and service equipment, including flush machines.
  • Complete oil, lube, filter, and preventative maintenance services.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and communicate findings clearly to team members and customers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
