About The Position

The Apprentice Technician is responsible for assisting experienced automotive technicians in performing vehicle maintenance and repairs under close supervision, learning basic diagnostic skills, and gaining hands-on experience in various automotive systems while actively training to become a fully qualified technician. Requirements

• Recent graduate from an automotive program or have been employed at an auto shop for over 1 year.
• Must be mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to take directions and follow through.
• Good judgment with the ability to operate power and hand tools
• Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions, perform repairs as directed and document all work performed.
• Attend all training, shop meetings, and continue education provided by the manufacturer.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Road test vehicles to quality check the work performed.
