About The Position

The Apprentice 1 will perform on-the-job training (OJT) while learning and developing as a technician. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Up to one year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and its applications.
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to follow directions and guidelines.
  • Ability to receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service Leadership.
  • Ability to learn many different types of repair procedures on a variety of mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Responsibilities

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Gains knowledge of and assists with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
  • Assists with installation, repairs, maintenance, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Examines and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure proper functioning.
  • Adjusts, connects, or wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts.
  • Attends Technical and Soft Skill classes and successfully incorporates skills learned.
  • Maintains safety training and procedures.
  • Receives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from service leadership.
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance.
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
