About The Position

The Operations Manager assists with the direction of all activities at a single Branch location. This includes performing all daily tasks needed to ensure a safety-first culture, expenses are controlled and a high standard of operational excellence is routinely achieved. Additionally, this role will manage the Branch in the absence of the Branch Manager. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

String technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and understand several abstract variables
Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
High school/equivalent diploma or trade school diploma preferred
Three to five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred
One to three years of retail or store management experience
Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Supports the successful management of branch operations and personnel
Ensures on-going compliance with all statutory DOT and safety requirements
Performs dispatching duties (if needed)
Inspect Branch yard daily
Supports the Branch Manager with the implementation of actions that achieve financial objectives
Assists the Branch Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies
Responsible for performance management of staff including, Inside Sales Reps, Drivers, and other staff as applicable
Motivates, coaches and successfully trains personnel
Promotes a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
Maintains an open line of communication with the Branch Manager and Service Manager, making them aware of all equipment not available for rent
Oversees team goals, making sure they are met/exceeded and compliance of company standards are kept through daily management
Fosters a customer-focused approach to branch operations while ensuring the Branch Yard, facility and staff are professional and presentable
Driven and results oriented; business development and KPIs to meet corporate targets
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
