Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for providing customer service and helping to meet individual and store Appraisal Buy goals. The Appraisal Specialist will provide exceptional service throughout the customer's experience, establish rapport quickly, and communicate effectively both in-person and over the phone. This role serves as an advocate for CarMax by sharing what makes it a smart choice, and facilitates steps of the appraisal process, including discovery, delivering appraisal offers, and overcoming objections. The ability to cope with pressure and difficult situations is essential, as is maintaining a working knowledge of CarMax products and transitioning customers to the proper team if additional opportunities are discovered. This role involves collecting and transcribing data for accurate appraisal offers, seeking self-development opportunities, participating in training, and acting on feedback. It operates in a fast-paced environment requiring high energy to engage with multiple customers per hour, and involves building and maintaining strong relationships with excellent teamwork. The ability to follow up and re-engage with customers to stay in continuous contact is also key.
