About The Position

The main objective of this role is to act as an AppOps Specialist within a critical data center migration program. The successful candidate will oversee and execute the migration of core application systems supporting payment card acceptance (acquiring) and card issuing business processes. These environments run critical, semi-real-time business functions (including transaction authorization) built both locally and by external vendors. The role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical skills, infrastructure understanding, and the ability to drive migration actions alongside project managers and cross-border technical teams.

Requirements

  • Efficient and advanced use of PL/SQL and/or T-SQL.
  • Proficient in at least two of the following: Perl, PowerShell, Shell, Bash, Python.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure aspects, network solutions, load-balancing (LB), and TLS encryption.
  • Strong understanding of availability, resilience, and performance aspects for semi-real-time online transaction systems and mass processing environments.
  • Proven experience working in similar roles dedicated to application migrations (ideally data center to data center).
  • Experience in working within global organizations with distributed technical teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken Polish and English to effectively socialize technical scope and challenges with international teams.
  • Strong ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and find operational compromises.
  • High ownership of product quality, with a strong focus on making and keeping project commitments.
  • Openness to collaborate, share expertise, and build professional relationships across the local and global organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with fintech, banking, or payment processing systems (authorizations, clearing, card management) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Execute DC Migration: Drive subsequent actions for building, testing, and migrating applications to new data center environments.
  • Infrastructure Coordination: Prepare, place, and track infrastructure build requests, configuration changes, and access permissions.
  • Blocker Resolution: Proactively identify and address technical or process blockers on the road to migration.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain high-quality, live technical documentation within Confluence.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Cooperate closely with Project Managers (PMs), global technical groups, external vendor support, and international Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • App Administration: Configure, maintain, and administer payment card issuing and transaction acquiring applications.
  • BAU Alignment: Work hand-in-hand with the FTS Application & Middleware Team during Business-As-Usual (BAU) transition phases.
  • Deployment & Changes: Verify, test, and implement application changes and releases delivered to the production environments.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Monitor application environments to ensure high reliability, performance, and correct operations.
  • Incident Management: Provide 3rd level system support by diagnosing and solving complex technical incidents and problems to maintain continuous operation.
