About The Position

Riverside Family Physicians is looking for a team player who is friendly, compassionate, organized, takes initiative, enjoys staying busy, and has a solid work history. We are looking for a team player with a great attitude, who can work under pressure in a busy environment. Must be extremely professional and comfortable with technology/software. This position requires the ability to communicate well with patients practicing the appropriate level of confidence and empathy. It also requires considerable attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under stress. The ability to communicate well with patients, physicians, fellow staff members, and supervisor is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. Requirements

Computer literate.

Ability to type 25 wpm.

Responsibilities

Receives and processes multiple incoming calls for appointments.
Schedules appointments in accordance with physician and/or department requirements.
Coordinates with other departments as necessary.
Verifies patient demographics and insurance information, and updates changes as needed.
Confirms appointments according to site policy.
Cancels/reschedules appointments according to provider schedule changes. Notifies appropriate clinic staff.
Runs reports as required.
Communicates appropriate information to providers or assistants in the office and to the Business/Eligibility department as needed.
Adheres to safety policies and procedures at all times.
Uses, protects, and discloses patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
