About The Position

Provides special education services to individuals with disabilities within the school setting. Applied Skills classrooms support a variety of diverse student needs both in the special education and general education setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
• Hold and maintain current Indiana licensure for mild or intense disabilities
• Possess a basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs specific to student needs.
• Facilitate case conferences for all students on the assigned caseload.
• Develop lesson plans in alignment with student IEP goals for education, employment, and independent living skills.
• Update and provide data-based quarterly progress reports
• Mentor and train classroom and 1:1 paraprofessionals
• Facilitate communication between all stakeholders
• Promote opportunities for inclusionary practices for students with significant disabilities
• Participate in all scheduled training throughout the school year.
• All other duties as assigned.
