About The Position

The Amazon Personalization organization is seeking an Applied Scientist to join their team. This high-performing group leverages Amazon’s expertise in machine learning, generative AI, large-scale data systems, and user experience design to deliver optimal shopping experiences. The team builds large-scale machine-learning solutions that provide customers with personalized and up-to-date recommendations based on their interests. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of the customer shopping journey.

Requirements

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop new AI technologies for personalization.
• Adopt or invent new machine learning and analytical techniques in the realm of recommendations, information retrieval, and large language models.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners locally and abroad.
• Invent, experiment with, and launch new features, products, and systems.
