As an Applied Scientist, you will apply state of the art natural language processing and computer vision research to video centric digital media. We are looking for scientists with expertise in vision-language models/multimodal LLMs and long-form content understanding (full movies/episode vs. short clips). You will be dealing with architectures that handle long-context understanding and causal reasoning across extended temporal sequences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of building models for business application experience
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly with respect to computer vision algorithms

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Unix/Linux
  • Experience in professional software development
  • Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Responsibilities

  • Apply state of the art natural language processing and computer vision research to video centric digital media.
  • Deal with architectures that handle long-context understanding and causal reasoning across extended temporal sequences.
  • Build multi-modal machine learning technologies to enrich and understand video content.
  • Understand individual components within the content itself, as well as their relationships to each other to provide a holistic and broader contextual understanding.
  • Power the next generation of video understanding and search capabilities for Prime Video.
  • Enable Prime Video to "see" and "understand" video content including characters, scenes, dialogue, events & visual elements.
  • Deliver localized, accessible content that meets a consistent cinematic quality standard at scale.
  • Deeply understand all content and empower all customers with relevant language options, innovative accessibility assists, and rich title-information across all their content-experiences on Prime Video.
  • Create and publish content on-time that's meaningful, accurate, and accessible to every customer globally.
  • Push the boundaries of content understanding and enrichment.
