Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain roles within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in commercial agreement negotiation, cost management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute commodity or sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Experience managing supplier capacity planning, risk mitigation, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and apply best practices to improve processes, products, or services.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to lead resolution of complex, cross‑functional issues.
  • Effective leadership and influencing skills, including the ability to lead projects and work cross‑functionally without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts and influence diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, align, and implement comprehensive commodity strategies to support business, operational, and customer objectives.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage supplier commercial agreements that define the framework for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.
  • Engage in the Product Lifecycle (PLC) process to ensure supplier strategies align with product roadmaps and long-term business needs.
  • Lead new supplier introduction and supplier disengagement activities in alignment with commodity strategies and risk mitigation plans.
  • Drive resolution of systemic supply chain issues impacting quality, cost, delivery, or lead time, including collaboration with sub‑tier suppliers when required.
  • Identify, develop, and present high-level cost reduction and value creation opportunities across the supply base.
  • Manage supplier capacity planning and readiness to support current and future demand requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance, transparency, and continuous improvement.
