About The Position

The Applied Engineering Development Program (AEDP) is a two-year entry-level program at GE Appliances, a Haier company, designed to support both the design and manufacturing of new products across various appliance categories. Program members will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate product designs that meet customer needs and observe the impact of these designs on the factory floor. The program enhances core engineering skills through advanced courses in engineering, manufacturing, and dimensional control, along with mentoring from assignment leaders. This comprehensive approach prepares members with the technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career at GE Appliances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering degree.
  • Cumulative GPA >= 3.0 (out of 4.0).
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Positions located in Louisville, KY.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and manufacturing of new products in Refrigeration, Cooking, Dishwashers, Air Conditioners, and Washers & Dryers.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate product designs.
  • Gain technical and professional skills through advanced courses and mentoring.
  • Complete four technical rotational assignments, alternating between design engineering and manufacturing.
  • Engage in diverse experiences such as design engineering, quality improvement, cost reduction, product reliability, component & product testing, dimensional control, lab testing, quality engineering, process improvement engineering, and advanced manufacturing engineering.
  • Develop technical problem-solving skills through advanced engineering coursework, formal reports, and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Obtain a GD&T Practitioner certification as a program requirement.
