Applied AI Engineer – MSP
About The Position
PressW is a firm that builds real AI systems for clients, focusing on delivering measurable profit gains through production AI solutions. They operate across three divisions: Managed AI (MSP) for institutional investors, AI Engineering for direct client system building, and AI Transformation for roadmap and readiness work. The AI Delivery Engineer role is within the AI Operations team, focusing on building custom connectors, agent skills, and addressing customer requests. This role requires attention to detail, software engineering best practices, and expertise in agent skill hygiene. The engineer will develop new MCP connectors in Python and work closely with the AI Strategist team to deliver client workflows with ROI. AI fluency is defined as daily use and deep understanding of tools like Claude, prompt engineering, context management, complex task structuring, staying current with AI developments, and having practical experience building AI solutions.
Requirements
- Exceptional AI fluency: power user of Claude and other AI systems, understanding capabilities and limits, staying current with developments.
- Direct experience building or configuring AI tools, agents, or automations (personal or side projects count).
- Technical curiosity and hands-on comfort: willing and able to configure software, set up integrations, and learn new tools.
- Strong communication and requirements-gathering skills: ability to ask questions that surface the real problem.
- Engineering capability to create new MCP connectors in the Python language.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM behavior, and context management techniques.
- Exposure to finance-adjacent software platforms: Salesforce, DealCloud, Allvue, Carta, Visible, or similar.
- Prior exposure to managed services, technology consulting, or implementation work.
Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy custom Claude connectors, skills, and agents for client workflows.
- Iterate on prompts, system instructions, and agent behaviors based on client feedback and performance.
- Set up integrations between Claude and client tools such as data rooms, CRMs, portfolio monitoring platforms, and document management systems.
- Troubleshoot and refine AI tools post-deployment, maintaining a continuous improvement loop with clients.
- Track and report on AI implementation initiatives across MSP clients, focusing on adoption, utilization, and ROI.
- Identify opportunities to expand AI tooling across portfolio company functions beyond the deal team (e.g., finance, HR, operations, IR).
- Build the business case for platform-level AI investments deployable across multiple portfolio companies.
- Contribute to PressW's playbooks for AI implementation in workflows, documenting best practices.
- Stay current with Claude releases, new capabilities, and the broader AI landscape, proactively sharing relevant developments.
- Help shape PressW's go-to-market positioning with prospects through proposals, case studies, and thought leadership.
