About The Position

As a Tanium Applied AI Engineer II, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products as part of a small, nimble development team. Tanium emphasizes customer engagement and feedback to ensure products are designed effectively from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy products from the ground up, continuously iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.

In this role, you will build and maintain AI agents, machine-learning models, and the backend systems that support them. You will integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows, optimize models and agents, manage deployment pipelines, and monitor production systems for reliability. The position calls for strong software engineering judgment, effective communication, a focus on testing and maintainability, and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience as an AI Developer, AI Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Expert knowledge of at least one of Golang, Python, or Java; Golang is preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of machine-learning algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, and natural language processing techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and with containerization technologies.
• Sound judgment balancing rapid development with long-term code maintainability and supportability.
• Effective technical and non-technical communication, both written and oral.
• Commitment to writing automated tests as part of development.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot production incidents under pressure.
• Knowledge of modern server-side and browser-side software frameworks, and versatility to learn new tools.
• Detail-oriented and passionate about creating an excellent user experience.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation, teamwork, high ethics and integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and machine-learning models to solve complex business problems.
• Create and maintain backend systems for LLMs and AI agents, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.
• Optimize and fine-tune models and AI agents for performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for AI model and AI agent deployment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot AI systems in production, ensuring reliability and robustness.
• Stay updated with advancements in AI, machine learning, AI agents, and related technologies.
• Protect Tanium information and other assets and comply with Tanium policies and applicable agreements.
