About The Position

The Applications Systems Analyst is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company’s Information System applications while acting as the IT liaison in support of the end-user departments. This is a Permanent position based out of Statesville, NC. The position requires the candidate to live in one of the following counties: Alexander, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, Wilkes, and Yadkin. The company will help with relocation via a signing bonus. The role involves an on-call rotation of 2 out of 10 weeks, with one week as primary and the second week as secondary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in IT, acting as an applications analyst understanding Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL, Excel spreadsheets, and other third-party reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts, preferably with Oracle and SQL.
  • Should possess knowledge in billing applications, application management, Internet applications, MS Access, Report writing applications - preferably Actuate, Microsoft Office, and MS Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Identify projects, conduct feasibility/needs analysis studies, and make recommendations on appropriate system solutions.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the EnergyUnited software applications – including testing, process re-engineering, training, documenting, and maintaining systems.
  • Identify and communicate hardware requirements.
  • Keep up to date with vendor software, software enhancements and requirements. Ensure the company is in compliance with release requirements.
  • Review security issues with the other IT staff to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Strictly enforce all copyright laws as they regard to copying, distribution, and use of software as stated in software license and EU Electronic media policies.
  • Keep current with technology trends and maintain skill set to implement new technology.
  • Works with application vendors to prioritize and resolve software issues.
  • Maintain current and appropriate data files and upgrades on applications that fall under the IT umbrella. As new systems are implemented and integration is provided between products, ensure that the data is properly maintained.
  • Maintain and enhance efficiencies within departments by providing additional software capabilities.
  • Review nightly processes and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Schedule and run special request jobs as required.
  • Provide application support to the end-users.
  • Identify and resolve training needs that may exist.
  • Define projects schedules – track and present progress.
  • Supply end users with information and accurate reports.
  • Works with representatives of various departments in assessing departmental needs, accessing and evaluating new IT projects.
  • Assist end users with the implementation of new processes and procedures within the department.
