About The Position

MANE is seeking a Bakery & Dairy Applications Scientist for their Sweet Goods Team at the Development Center in Lebanon, Ohio. This role involves creating dairy and bakery-related application demonstrations using MANE flavors and technologies, selecting the best options to provide customer-winning solutions. The position offers the opportunity to execute technical matters, establish cross-functional teams, and present to external customers to support Sales initiatives. It provides high visibility and a chance to showcase technical prowess and creativity. Strong process-oriented background and management skills are critical for success.

Requirements

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Food Science or Nutrition; combination of education and experience will be considered.
10+ years of dairy & bakery product development experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure laboratory activities meet/exceed technical, safety, and efficiency goals.
Manage technical projects for MANE bakery & dairy customers, ensuring project timelines, regulatory constraints, pricing, and technical merit are achieved.
Build technically sound application prototypes utilizing MANE flavors & technologies.
Provide input to Flavorist & Research & Development teams to create the best possible customer showings.
Choose best flavor selections for applications purposes and provide feedback to Flavorists & Commercial partners.
Organize cross-functional & global teams to solve flavor & food applications challenges.
Support Sales initiatives by presenting MANE capabilities at customers &/or at targeted technical / commercial conferences.
Support Library initiatives & strategic Research & Development projects.
Cross-train staff members & learn to create all ranges of applications in a food environment.
Identify new capabilities, technologies & introduction into the laboratory environment.
Remain current with advances in application processes, commercial dynamics & competitor products / technologies.
Liaison with external vendors to improve application bases & knowledge of new application introductions.
Motivated to win business through success with projects and meeting customer needs.
Self-Starter – Actively seeks new and better ways to perform duties.
Proficient technical skills with formulation, raw materials, flavors, and product processing.
Proficient experimental design skills, market product knowledge and competitive intelligence.
Proficient with Customer interactions and presentations
