Within IFF’s Taste business unit, we craft unique, technology-enabled flavor designs that define the identity of food and beverage brands, shape market trends, and drive customer success. The role is based in South Brunswick, NJ and is an onsite (Anchor) position, requiring presence in the lab and pilot plant five days per week. Requirements

  • University or college degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology
  • One to two years of experience in the industrial food, ingredient, or flavor industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Organized approach to managing assigned tasks under supervision
  • Interest in developing technical, creative, and application knowledge within the Taste function
  • Ability to work effectively in a lab and pilot plant environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Hands-on experience with flavor or ingredient solutions
  • Exposure to customer technical support activities such as plant trials or troubleshooting
  • Curiosity about innovation, technology, and market or consumer trends

Responsibilities

  • Support the Design team in developing flavor and ingredient solutions under the guidance of senior designers
  • Participate in projects from concept creation through production, with supervision
  • Take ownership of assigned creative project tasks within broader projects
  • Set up, conduct, and analyze basic tests and experiments to support development work
  • Build an understanding of functional ingredients, flavoring materials, end uses, and customer applications
  • Apply regulatory awareness, including exposure to GRA (Global Regulatory Affairs) requirements, and understand their impact on development and recommendations
  • Use IFF flavor and ingredient portfolios and tools to search, select, and refine solutions
  • Follow and maintain compliance with IFF safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures
