About The Position

This role supports the North America Land Drill Bits organization by delivering technical insights, applications analysis, and product recommendations to drive performance and revenue. The Applications Engineer will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Technology teams to optimize bit selection, support field execution, and contribute to new product development. Responsibilities include providing repair approvals and technical support to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 4+ years of technical field experience, preferably in drilling or drill bits
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute technical programs effectively
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Valid work authorization in the country of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to provide on-call troubleshooting and technical support for field personnel and sales teams (after hours)
  • Ability to travel to for customers interactions, technical training, and internal meetings (up to 10%)

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with field operations and sales to deliver technical value and performance insights to customers
  • Providing post-sales technical support, including performance reviews, run analysis, and customer troubleshooting
  • Conducting detailed applications analysis to optimize bit selection and drilling performance
  • Approving drill bit repairs and ensuring compliance with technical standards
  • Collaborating with Technology teams to support new product development, testing, and launch activities
  • Documenting and communicating technical findings to internal stakeholders and customers
  • Supporting field operations with technical recommendations and best practices
  • Promoting strong customer relationships through professional communication and service quality
