About The Position

The Applications Engineer Rotation Program is a 24-month program designed to accelerate participants’ knowledge of the role of applications engineers at Cirrus Logic and support their development into well-rounded engineers who can address customer design challenges. The program includes three rotations: two applications engineering assignments and one technical role in a group that collaborates with Applications Engineers. Upon completing the program, participants join the Cirrus Logic Applications Engineering team, which brings mixed-signal audio devices to market. The role supports the launch of next-generation devices for Cirrus Logic’s audio business and helps customers integrate those devices into their end products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Verilog, C, Python, MATLAB, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, audio analyzers, logic analyzers, or spectrum analyzers.
• Must be able to access technical data without requiring an export license; Cirrus Logic cannot sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct engineering support to Cirrus Logic customers and field personnel.
• Develop reference designs and demonstration platforms.
• Develop application notes, white papers, demo boards, and reference-design manuals.
• Develop firmware and RTL modules for customer reference and demonstration.
• Implement customer-application-focused data collection and circuit analysis.
• Collaborate and communicate with IC Design Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Validation Engineers to understand and define design requirements and customer use cases.
• Manage tasks and priorities autonomously.
• Travel approximately two weeks per year, domestically and internationally.
