About The Position

StageRight – Events Division is seeking an Applications Engineering Manager to lead and grow their Events-side team. This role involves engineering large-scale, custom structures such as telescopic seating systems and complex staging solutions for major venues. The manager will collaborate closely with the StageRight Performance engineering group, turning concepts into practical, engineered solutions that drive sales and project success. The position is based in Clare, Michigan, and is an onsite role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Structural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of people management experience
• Strong experience with 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Experience working in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with custom, large-scale engineered products
• Familiarity with staging, structural systems, or similar industries
• ERP system experience

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Applications Engineering team
• Oversee creation of proposals, layouts, costing, and technical documentation
• Partner with Sales, Dealers, and Customers to interpret RFQs and design optimal solutions
• Act as a key technical resource during pre-sale and early project phases
• Ensure all designs meet customer requirements, internal standards, and applicable codes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Installation teams
• Manage schedules and resources to deliver projects on time
• Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements
• Support continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and customer experience
