About The Position

Tektronix is seeking a motivated early-career engineer for its Application Engineering Development Program. This program is designed to develop deep technical expertise in electrical test and measurement instrumentation, leading to a customer-facing technical career. The initial phase involves working as an Application Engineer in the Technical Support Center (TSC), assisting engineers with measurement challenges. Following this, the program transitions the engineer into a field-based role within a sales region, where they will act as a trusted technical advisor, engage with customers, and develop commercial and business responsibilities. This path is ideal for recent graduates who enjoy applying engineering to real-world problems, interacting with people, and desire a career with growth potential in applications engineering, customer-facing technical roles, and commercial/sales leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of, or experience with, test and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, DMMs, SMUs, etc.).
• Hands-on lab experience in R&D, university projects, or internships involving signal-oriented test and measurement.
• Programming experience with at least one high-level language (Python, C#, LabVIEW, etc.), particularly for instrument control and automation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and external customers.
• A genuine interest in customer engagement and problem-solving.
• Willingness to relocate to a sales region and travel within it after the training phase.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to engineers at leading technology companies.
• Help customers solve complex test challenges, troubleshoot equipment, and optimize measurement setups.
• Collaborate with Field Application Engineers (FAEs), Sales teams, and Product Engineering teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Create technical content such as application notes, training videos, and knowledge base articles.
• Apply technical expertise directly with customers to drive their success and business growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers select the right solutions for their applications.
• Partner with Account Managers and FAEs to develop and execute account strategies.
• Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concept trials, and technical discovery discussions.
• Identify and develop new opportunities within assigned accounts and region.
• Represent Tektronix at customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
• Stay connected to internal teams (TSC, Marketing, and Product Line) to ensure customers are well supported.
