About The Position

Teradyne’s Defense & Aerospace Division provides mission-critical test solutions to military and aerospace customers worldwide. The Defense & Aerospace Rotational Track (DART) is an 18-month program for new college graduates seeking a career in applications engineering. Participants complete three six-month assignments that progress from product teams toward customer-facing work: Quality Assurance, Total Test Solutions, and either Systems Engineering or Field Applications Engineering. Each rotation includes a rotation-specific manager, meaningful deliverables, and an end-of-rotation review with a presentation and written feedback. A hiring manager supports the participant throughout the program. Participants are full-time Teradyne Applications Engineers from day one and continue in the Applications Engineer role after the program. The program starts in July 2027. In Quality Assurance, participants test and qualify instruments and systems across the Defense & Aerospace product line, create automated and manual test suites, and debug hardware. In Total Test Solutions, they develop customer test program sets (TPS) from requirements through debugging and delivery. The final rotation is either Systems Engineering—integrating, configuring, and supporting automatic test equipment (ATE) systems—or Field Applications Engineering, working at customer sites to deploy, troubleshoot, and support Teradyne test systems. The role involves developing, debugging, and maintaining test software and customer test programs; troubleshooting hardware in a hands-on lab; collaborating across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams; delivering work and presenting results in rotation reviews; and learning through mentorship. Candidates must be local to the position location; relocation is not provided. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and is subject to ITAR and export-control requirements.
