About The Position

This role involves analyzing current web applications, documenting specifications, and developing a remediation strategy for web-based applications and databases. The analyst will work with business users to improve applications based on current needs and remediation constraints, and update them to incorporate changes mandated by Florida PALM. Responsibilities also include analyzing financial data, making recommendations for financial system data models, and utilizing Azure DevOps for task management, code assets, and deployments. The position requires participation in scrum and team meetings, collaborative activities, and maintenance for Application Services, along with knowledge transfer to technical staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Classic ASP
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in ASP.NET
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Javascript UI libraries such as Angular and React
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Backend databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in on-premises and cloud based (Azure) platforms
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with the SQL Server and/or Oracle relational database management system
  • Well versed in software development and agile best practices
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources and across a variety of technologies

  • Familiarity with on-premises and cloud-based web applications

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current web applications and document the specifications.
  • Work with management to develop an overall remediation strategy for all impacted web-based applications and databases.
  • Analyze existing web applications and work with business users to determine how these applications can be improved based on current business needs and within the constraints of remediation activities.
  • Remediate web applications based on analysis to prepare them for FDOT use of PALM.
  • Work with database administrators from the Office of Information Technology to create database views and stored procedures that will facilitate the remediation of application databases.
  • Update web applications to incorporate chart of account and other changes mandated by Florida PALM.
  • Analyze financial data and make recommendations to improve the data model of financial systems.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps to manage work tasks, code assets, and deployments.
  • Attend regular scrum and team meetings.
  • Participate in collaborative activities with team members and customers.
  • Work on maintenance activities for Application Services.
  • Perform knowledge transfer with technical staff of the office of the Comptroller and Application Services.
