Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of increasingly difficult and responsible duties in the design, development, modification, and maintenance of application software to support the efficiency and effectiveness of District/SNWA operations and public service delivery. Works with more senior developers to engage with customers to understand and assist them in addressing business and operational issues and problems. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience developing, testing, implementing, and supporting software applications within a government or public-sector environment. They possess strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with business partners to gather requirements, recommend best practices, and design effective, scalable software solutions that align with organizational objectives. The candidate has experience supporting and enhancing large-scale enterprise applications, including platforms such as Oracle Customer to Meter (C2M) and IBM Maximo. They are proficient in technologies including Groovy, Java, SQL, HTML, PHP, and CSS, and have a proven track record of delivering reliable solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement across enterprise systems. Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.
