About The Position

Oracle America, Inc. is seeking an Applications Developer 3 to analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for commercial or end-user applications. This role involves writing code, completing programming, and performing testing and debugging of applications. As a member of the software engineering division, the developer will perform detailed design based on provided or external specifications, assist in system planning, scheduling, and implementation, and analyze system specifications and existing business processes and information systems. The position includes building enhancements (new product features) and resolving bugs, as well as building and executing unit tests and unit test plans. The developer may also review integration and regression test plans created by QA and communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss minor changes to product functionality and ensure consistency, testability, and portability across products. This position may telecommute.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Applications Developer-related occupation.
  • Delivering scalable, distributed microservices
  • Java and Ruby or Python
  • Oracle 12c, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Hbase, Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Apache Spark, and Elasticsearch
  • Containerization technologies including Docker and orchestration tools including Kubernetes for deploying and managing applications in a cloud native environment
  • Unix
  • SQL dialect
  • CS fundamentals
  • One or more testing frameworks
  • Git
