The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Applications Developer to join their Division of Technology Services (DTS) team. This role supports four mainframe systems: Job Automated System (JAS), Tax Employer Accounting Multi-system (TEAM), Computer Assisted Collection System (CACS), and General Unemployment Insurance Development Effort (GUIDE). The systems are written in Natural, COBOL, CICS and utilize ADABAS, DB2, and VSAM files. The position involves analyzing customer application change requests, translating them into technical specifications, writing and modifying programs, testing and debugging, creating operational documentation using JobDoc, writing and testing Job Control Language (JCL), and completing production migration requests. The developer will also support DERS Customers as needed and participate in Agile Methodology practices, including attending Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Responsibilities include creating and updating User Stories and tasks in the Product and Sprint Backlogs, and demonstrating issue solutions during Sprints. This position may offer remote work within Arizona based on department needs and performance.
