About The Position

The Applications Analyst (I) functions collaboratively as a leader, a consultant and a researcher with the primary responsibility of the effective implementation and support of assigned system(s). The Applications Analyst role will have primary responsibility for the design, build/configuration, testing, validation, documentation and ongoing support for the District’s applications. The Analyst will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring/utilizing knowledge of the operational workflows to be implemented with their supported systems. The Analyst will be responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to the assigned system(s) and related information systems. This position assures critical production and test applications perform to quality specifications and are readily available for end users across the District.

Requirements

  • Obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality
  • Acquiring/utilizing knowledge of the operational workflows to be implemented with their supported systems
  • Coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to the assigned system(s) and related information systems
  • Assuring critical production and test applications perform to quality specifications and are readily available for end users across the District
  • Converting user specifications into functional and technical specifications
  • Assisting and/or developing the building of requests
  • Developing implementation timeframes
  • Participating in meetings, prioritization, resolution of conflicts, managing issues, and execution of defined project plans
  • Establishing professional relationship with users to enhance their experiences with the District technology and computer systems
  • Evaluating the impact new or modified software will have on existing standards and systems
  • Troubleshooting of computer issues, to include processes/workflow, hardware and software related problems
  • Resolving user calls in a timely manner
  • Responding to escalation of specified issues and determining appropriate resource for resolution
  • Writing and/or review of system documentation to describe system processes, installation and operating procedures for systems
  • Providing training material
  • Writing user manuals and creating other user-specific training manuals as appropriate
  • Applying standard testing methodology to the review and test of new and modify systems with detailed testing scripts
  • Committing to the continuous improvement of the patient experience, which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service
  • Review and development of the gap analysis between the future state and current state business/workflows
  • Assisting the stakeholders in identifying the change management efforts required to ensure adoption of the new technology, or process change critical for effective preparation of the sites to ensure smooth deployment of the assigned system(s)
  • Ensuring effective communication with end users, District partners and project team with the right message to the right audience at the right time
  • Conducting validation testing of data imported into the assigned system(s) and related applications
  • Providing customer support to troubleshoot and resolve critical production application problems
  • Developing knowledge of the federal, state and local healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Analyzing applicability to systems and implementing appropriate solutions within the District’s environment
  • Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and assists in the build/configuration, implementation, evaluation, training, maintenance and coordination of assigned system(s) and related applications.
  • Works with the District’s Partners collaboratively to complete system design and configuration, implementation, management of complex issues and promote effective optimization of assigned system(s) and related applications.
  • Develops and/or maintains an understanding of the organization, users and workflow in the analyst’s assigned area.
  • Participates in the analysis, development and maintenance of application processes and technologies.
