About The Position

Eisenhower is seeking a Senior Epic Inpatient Orders, Senior Epic Ambulatory certified analyst or an existing certified Senior Epic Analyst in clinical module that possesses relevant experience in the clinical setting to join Eisenhower to gain certification within the required time frame. This analyst will provide production support, on call and after-hours support, develop new functionality, analysis, problem solve, and support our clinical and non-clinical users daily fast paced environment. In this role, this analyst will own or manage medium to large projects. Supports the core functions of EMC clinical applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will implement, administer, and support assigned clinical systems under the guidance of the Information Systems Management team. This position will have a thorough understanding of assigned applications, ancillary systems, and health system operations. This position will address issues and design decisions of moderate to high complexity and deliver clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to applications, interfaces, data structures, and workflows across the organization. This position also manages software upgrades and maintenance as well as serves as Project Manager for major Information Systems projects. Coordinates application support with other information technology teams including System Administrators, DBA, Networking, Reporting, and the Help Desk. Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department's policies and procedures. Provide solutions to work orders, trouble tickets and projects for assigned departments.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or experience in lieu of degree
  • Certification(s) required for those positions supporting an Epic application
  • Two (2) years of Application/Epic Analyst experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in PMO methodology and tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support, on call and after-hours support.
  • Develop new functionality, analysis, and problem-solve.

  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of all current systems for assigned departments and troubleshoot issues and document for vendor resolution.
  • Support departments and staff during, and post implementation, of assigned applications/systems.
  • Provide at the elbow support for providers and end users as needed during and after clinical system upgrades.
  • Analyze current systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care, provider productivity, financial outcomes and ancillary relations or cost savings.
  • Identify and assist with planning for, and developing, department-specific requirements for future product acquisitions.
  • Perform written and oral project status reporting on a regular basis as requested.
  • Communicate with IS staff members, vendors and users, and facilitate communication between these groups to identify system needs, modifications, and/or issues.
  • Works with these groups to reach resolution of issues, define necessary modifications and develop solutions.
  • Analyze user-requested programming changes, document requests, facilitate communication between users and IS staff.
  • Work with vendors to determine, review and document acceptance of system changes.
  • Facilitate communications between IS personnel and vendor representatives.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to expert users.
  • Follow Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines on all projects.
  • Utilize all PMO tools provided to manage and communicate project tasks and issues.
  • Train and assist others in utilizing PMO tools and methodologies.
  • Take initiative to share information regarding healthcare informatics or regulatory requirements with other team members.
  • Take advantage of available resources to stay informed of current developments and trends in healthcare informatics, information security and regulatory compliance.
  • Assure that all necessary documentation (i.e. procedures, processes) is properly completed.
  • Update all service requests on a monthly basis and communicate updates to the requestor on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that email and voice mail indicate unavailability with alternative contact when out of office.
  • Assume administrative tasks to support management as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
