About The Position

What is the opportunity? The Application Specialist will be working with RBC Wealth Management’s Clearing and Custody Business line. As an Application Specialist, you will collaborate with business partners and across Information Technology teams to manage and drive application enhancements as well as ensure stability of existing applications What will you do? Serve as the primary point of contact to communicate any application updates to our business users or service desks Establish working expertise across key vendor platforms and understand their integration with internal RBC systems and support any production issues with the applications Create and maintain relationships with vendors’ technical staff Establish and implement criteria for the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software, as well as participate in due diligence exercises Provide callbacks to firms for incidents and provide PIV for internal and external changes for the business line What do you need to succeed? Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close Resolves conflicts/issues and reports through proper channels as appropriate

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience working in a technical support role or similar
  • Basic understanding of web services, APIs, FTP, data query, cyber security standards, network architecture, etc.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting APIs
  • Experience in managing service queues
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close
  • Resolves conflicts/issues and reports through proper channels as appropriate

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Jira/Confluence and Service Now
  • Knowledgeable in the Financial Advisory industry
