About The Position

Valeo is a global tech company focused on reinventing mobility through innovative solutions for greener and safer transportation. As an Application Engineering Intern, you will gain practical experience in active safety and driver assistance technologies such as park assist, automated parking, collision avoidance, and blind spot detection. You will collaborate with application engineers, system teams, and mechanical designers on vehicle testing, component integration, and data analysis. This is a year-round position for a current student or recent graduate, starting as soon as possible.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field OR Recent Graduate.
Fundamental understanding of mechanical principles (static/dynamic forces) and basic vehicle dynamics.
Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and solid written/verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Basic exposure to programming or script writing is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Previous project or coursework exposure to active safety, driver assistance systems (ADAS), or automotive development.

Responsibilities

Assist with active safety testing on test tracks and set up test environments for project vehicles.
Support the team in reviewing system requirements, creating basic test cases, and performing log/trace analysis using standard industry tools.
Learn how sensors (ultrasonic, cameras) integrate into vehicles by shadow-reviewing mechanical packaging and assisting with ECU flashing and calibration setup.
Help draft test specifications, test reports, and configuration sheets while collaborating with domestic and global engineering teams.
