About The Position

The Application Engineer role is to implement and maintain in-house and vendor provided software applications across all Parks. This includes installation, implementation, and troubleshooting, while providing day to day support to existing software applications. The Application Engineer will setup and maintain system administration and configure software systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of work experience in IT, preferred in IT Support roles.
  • Point-of-Sale systems experience, GALAXY-POS preferred.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented with a history of problem resolution, prevention and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system interfaces and integrations and analyze data extracts.
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional peers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and IT technical teams.
  • Ability to write and understand technical documentation.
  • Keen attention to detail to manage a high volume of details with excellent accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day application support on software systems at all Park Technology locations. This includes after hours, weekends, and on-call support.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze logs, replicate errors, determine root cause, and communicate findings. Liaise with other technical teams to assist in resolving problems with software products and/or configuration of hardware components.
  • Build and maintain software system configuration of supported applications while adhering to defined standards.
  • Attend meetings with business partners and vendors to communicate strategies, deployments, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Design, run and monitor test cases on new and existing applications for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging.
  • Create and maintain application documentation for all software applications including evolving processes. Provide knowledge transfer and onboarding for Associate level members of the team.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
