About The Position

Vamonos IT is seeking an Application Engineer / QA Analyst to support the modernization, migration, testing, and ongoing operation of an enterprise Mobile Device Management/Unified Endpoint Management environment for a U.S. Federal Agency. The primary objective of this role is to support the migration of managed iOS and Android devices from VMware Workspace ONE/AirWatch to Microsoft Intune, followed by ongoing engineering, application management, testing, troubleshooting, and production support within the Intune environment. This is a hands-on technical role combining endpoint engineering, application management, migration support, quality assurance, and production validation. The successful candidate should be comfortable configuring and testing mobile-device policies, applications, enrollment workflows, security controls, identity integrations, and device configurations in a large enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise IT engineering, endpoint management, systems administration, application support, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune in a production enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing iOS/iPadOS and Android Enterprise devices.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting mobile-device: Enrollment, Configuration profiles, Compliance policies, Applications, Security controls.
  • Demonstrated experience performing structured QA/testing, including development and execution of test plans and test cases.
  • Experience supporting enterprise technology migrations, platform transitions, or large-scale configuration changes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, security groups, RBAC, and Conditional Access.
  • Experience troubleshooting application deployment, device configuration, authentication, and compliance issues.
  • Experience documenting defects and tracking issues using platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.
  • Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a structured U.S. Federal Government environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to satisfy customer background investigation/suitability requirements.

  • Direct experience migrating devices from VMware Workspace ONE/AirWatch to Microsoft Intune.

  • Experience with Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrollment.

  • Public Trust or comparable federal suitability investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, testing, execution, and validation of the migration from VMware Workspace ONE/AirWatch to Microsoft Intune.
  • Configure, test, and support management of iOS/iPadOS and Android Enterprise devices.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, regression tests, and validation procedures for mobile-device configurations, applications, security policies, enrollment workflows, and platform changes.
  • Configure and validate device enrollment using technologies such as: Apple Business Manager / Automated Device Enrollment, Android Enterprise, Google Zero-Touch Enrollment, Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment.
  • Configure and validate Intune: Configuration profiles, Compliance policies, Device restrictions, Application assignments, Security policies, Conditional Access dependencies, Device and user group assignments.
  • Package, deploy, test, and troubleshoot internally developed and third-party mobile applications.
  • Support application lifecycle activities including: Application deployment, Version upgrades, Staged rollouts, Mandatory and optional assignments, Application configuration policies, Application allow/block controls.
  • Validate shared-device and kiosk/dedicated-device configurations.
  • Test automated remediation and compliance actions including device blocking, application removal, and device remediation.
  • Support integration and validation with enterprise identity and security services including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, enterprise PKI, SCEP, certificates, and PIV/CAC-related technologies.
  • Validate device and application behavior following OS updates, application releases, configuration changes, and security-policy changes.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Document defects, test results, configuration issues, remediation actions, and production-readiness findings.
  • Troubleshoot device enrollment, application deployment, authentication, certificate, configuration, compliance, and connectivity issues.
  • Support post-migration Tier 2/Tier 3 operational troubleshooting and incident resolution.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, configuration guides, test procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Support audit logging, compliance reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, identity, networking, application, service desk, and customer stakeholders.
