About The Position

We are partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment to hire a QA Analyst who will help ensure the quality and reliability of technology platforms and entertainment services. This is a hands-on, mid-level role suited to a quality professional who can independently execute testing, clearly document results, and collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and distributed QA partners. The QA Analyst will support manual and automated testing across front-end, back-end, and platform integrations. The role focuses on disciplined test execution, thoughtful defect reporting, and steady growth in test automation, without requiring senior-level ownership of the overall quality strategy.

Requirements

3+ years of software QA experience, with strong hands-on manual testing experience and exposure to automated testing.
Experience writing and executing functional, regression, integration, and exploratory test cases.
Ability to document defects clearly and work through issues with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with QA and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum development practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience maintaining or extending automated tests using an established framework.
Experience testing APIs, web applications, mobile or connected-device applications, or platform integrations.
Experience in entertainment, streaming, media, or another consumer-facing digital product environment.

Responsibilities

Participate in requirements and feature discussions to identify test needs, risks, and edge cases.
Create and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and test data based on requirements and user workflows.
Execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
Test across supported devices, operating systems, browsers, and environments.
Document results accurately and communicate testing status to the project team.
Execute and maintain existing automated tests for key workflows and regression coverage.
Create or update automated test cases with guidance from senior QA or engineering team members.
Review automation results, investigate failures, and work with engineers to resolve issues.
Identify repeatable manual tests that may be good candidates for automation.
Support continuous testing activities within Agile development cycles.
Log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, expected results, and actual results.
Assist with defect triage by communicating severity, user impact, and release risk.
Collaborate with offshore manual and automation testing teams to coordinate coverage and results.
Reproduce and validate issues reported by internal teams or customers.
Escalate blockers and critical quality risks promptly to the appropriate lead or manager.
Complete assigned testing activities in line with project milestones and release schedules.
Partner with Customer Service teams to validate reported issues and confirm fixes.
Help monitor and maintain stable, high-quality services in production.
Contribute to retrospectives and suggest practical improvements to QA processes and coverage.
