About The Position

Application Engineer I Indianapolis (onsite, hybrid) Come join a team that makes a difference here and around the world! Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join its IND BO AE Team. The Application Engineer I provides technical support and quotations with regard to the selection, price, design and delivery impact that will meet or exceed customer expectations in alignment with departmental procedures, communicate and collaborate with outside business partners, internal customers, and direct suppliers while adhering to corporate policy and procedure. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. The salary range for this position is $58,400-$87,325. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Peerless Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Peerless Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Indianapolis, Indiana. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business with equivalent experience in technical sales and manufacturing required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detail
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Access®, Power Point®, Projects®, Outlook etc.), AutoCAD (or other drafting tools), SAP and CRM systems
  • Advanced understanding of pumps, construction, hydraulics, and application of rotating equipment
  • Has high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitments

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Review product specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to: equipment selection, sizing, costing, research requests for duplicate equipment from serial number records, and develop current pricing
  • Communicate with our direct suppliers for pricing, delivery, and technical information.
  • Produce detailed and concise work instructions pertaining to customer requirements, production improvements, purchasing assistance, etc.
  • Provide documentation to Project Management pertaining to pricing, delivery schedule, preliminary design information, and exceptions quoted to customer specifications, detailed listing of customer specifications reviewed at proposal phase, pattern research, etc.
  • Post fulfillment project review to determine causes of margin erosion and improvements that can be made to reduce future margin erosion
  • Support continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and eliminate errors in the order winning process.
  • Support continuous improvement, in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profit
  • Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with Grundfos Values and our internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost)
  • Be a voice of the customer to the CSC, advocating for the customer’s needs
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Complete special projects as assigned and perform other duties as required
