Application Engineer I
About The Position
The Application Engineer I supports the Concepting & Estimating (CAE) team by developing solution concepts, generating cost estimates, and preparing proposal content in support of the sales process. This role operates at the intersection of sales and engineering – balancing cost competitiveness with technical accuracy. Success requires the ability to assess material and engineering effort, define solution approaches, and deliver high-quality proposals on tight timelines. This is a fast-paced, learning-focused, entry-level position designed for recent graduates or early-career engineers. The role emphasizes speed, critical thinking, and continuous learning over perfection, with a strong expectation to develop judgment around risk, cost accuracy, and proposal clarity.
