About The Position

Wurth Industrial U.S.A. is seeking recent graduates with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering to join their EIT (Engineer in Training) Program. As an Application Engineer in Training, you will provide technical support across multiple engineering disciplines. You will work directly with customer engineering teams to identify and implement fastener solutions that aim to improve performance, reduce costs, and support manufacturing efficiency. Following a 12-18 month training period, you will transition into a permanent role aligned with your interests and the company's business needs. This role is based in Roanoke, VA.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, Eng. Technology, or related field.
• 0-4 years of engineering experience.
• Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Organized with the ability to work cross functionally.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, while working with a team to deliver high quality of work.

Responsibilities

• Recommend fastening solutions for customer-specific applications, considering performance, standardization, and total cost of ownership.
• Conduct technical reviews of customer prints, part-to-print analysis, and engineering drawings.
• Support teardown evaluations and production line walks to assess fastener performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Propose Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) alternatives to enhance quality, reduce cost, or improve assembly processes.
• Build strong working relationships with customer engineering teams.
• Act as a technical liaison between Wurth and customer design, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Deliver technical presentations and product training to customer stakeholders.
