Your Team, Your Impact Marvell’s Data Center Ethernet PHY Business Unit is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions for enterprise, data center, service provider, small business, and digital home customers. The AEC Applications team is a key part of the Data Center BU, driving key design wins for 400 Gigabit, 800 Gigabit, and 1.6 Terabit Ethernet AEC products. What You Can Expect Proactively and efficiently support Marvell’s AEC PAM4 DSP products. Own and drive customer issues to resolution, acting as the primary interface between customers and Marvell engineering teams. Collaborate with Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and Product Line Managers (PLMs) to gather and communicate customer needs to marketing and engineering teams. Develop an understanding of customer target markets; analyze and prioritize design requirements; and provide structured feedback to engineering teams. Drive and support the sales team in securing key design wins with Marvell AEC cables. Review customer schematics and layouts; perform hands‑on bring‑up and debugging of customer cables; and track and manage customer technical issues through resolution. Provide remote or on‑site troubleshooting, support customer lab and field trials, and gain an in-depth understanding of customer application environments to deliver insightful technical guidance. What We're Looking For Our Application Engineers are expected to have a strong foundation in software programming and hardware fundamentals, along with the curiosity and persistence to tackle interesting and challenging problems every day. This role requires a natural enthusiasm for learning new technologies and the ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to a wide range of audiences, including enterprise architects, engineers, and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Experience with C and Python
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits and system-level hardware
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic/protocol analyzers, and traffic generators
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multicultural, cross‑functional, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Professional, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and self-driven
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an Application Engineer, particularly in resolving customer issues
  • Familiarity with high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, board assembly, and manufacturing
  • Hands-on lab experience with SerDes TX and RX validation
  • Experience designing and/or debugging embedded microcontroller systems (preferably 32-bit ARM Cortex-M)
