About The Position

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management position responsible for delivering results through engineering leadership combined with hands-on design and implementation. This role leads by example to raise the technical bar across the organization, with a core focus on building and operating intelligent infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) platforms that leverage AI to improve reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software and systems development, with a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong hands-on programming experience in Java; proficiency in Python or another language is a significant plus.
  • Proven experience designing and building AI-powered applications end-to-end.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology initiatives and delivering production-grade results.
  • Deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, and software architecture.
  • Proficiency with modern technology stacks, including enterprise cloud platforms, microservices, and containerization/orchestration.
  • Advanced knowledge of testing, debugging, and software quality practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage software engineering teams, set goals, and own personnel responsibilities including performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
  • Actively architect, design, and build complex software systems in Java or another programming language, applying strong computer science fundamentals, clean engineering practices, and scalable design.
  • Lead the development of applications and tooling that embed AI capabilities — such as intelligent monitoring, automated root cause analysis, predictive alerting, and self-healing systems.
  • Guide engineers across software and infrastructure disciplines, fostering technical rigor, continuous learning, and engineering craftsmanship.
  • Partner with senior leaders, product teams, and stakeholders to align engineering work with business priorities.
