About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Senior Application Developer (Software Engineer Level 2) to develop scalable custom analytics and software solutions that support critical mission objectives. The role works directly with data scientists and mission analysts to build tools that enhance discovery, advance analytical tradecraft, and address complex global challenges. It focuses on prototyping, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining analytical capabilities within the customer's corporate architecture to operationalize data science. The Software Engineer analyzes, designs, verifies, validates, implements, applies, and maintains software systems and analytical applications. The role applies relevant computer science principles—including discrete mathematics, probability, and statistics—to complex software systems; generalizes techniques across domains; and develops documentation and training while presenting technical briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Candidates requiring a CCA will be considered. Education and experience qualifications may be met through a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline plus five years of relevant experience; a master's degree plus three years; a doctoral degree with no additional experience; or, in some cases, an associate's degree plus seven years of relevant experience. Relevant experience must include software development and programming across requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment or installation, and maintenance. Related degrees may be considered when coursework is equivalent to a Computer Science concentration.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java, Python, and PySpark.
  • Experience developing analytical tools and applications using Jupyter Notebooks and GM.
  • Experience working with customer corporate tools, system architectures, data flows, and big data environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, data analysis, and scalable analytics.
  • Experience developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications in operational environments.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with data scientists, mission analysts, and technical stakeholders.
  • One qualifying education and experience combination: bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline plus five years of relevant experience; master's degree plus three years; doctoral degree with no additional experience; or, potentially, associate's degree plus seven years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience must include software development and programming, including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment or installation, and maintenance.
  • Degree must be in Computer Science or a qualifying related discipline; related degrees may qualify if coursework is equivalent to a Computer Science concentration in algorithms, computer architecture, programming methodologies and languages, data structures, logic and computation, and advanced mathematics.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
  • United States citizenship required.
