About The Position

This position is responsible for database development, management, and administration, including developing and optimizing database objects, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database servers and related application servers. The role involves defining users, enabling data distribution, implementing policies and procedures for data integrity and availability, and assisting with maintenance plans for backups and updates. The position also focuses on creating automations for database tasks, monitoring job execution, troubleshooting errors, and monitoring job performance. Additionally, it involves designing and implementing integrations between databases, monitoring these integrations, and ensuring compliance with business processes. The role includes designing, creating, and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards, as well as developing and documenting queries and routines for management information. Data security, privacy, and integrity are key responsibilities, along with facilitating data updates, testing and correcting data for inconsistencies, and analyzing data anomalies. The position provides backup on-call and support coverage, troubleshoots applications, maintains systems, and works with other staff to ensure optimal performance and system integrity. It also involves providing system support documentation, consulting with software vendors, and tracking issues in a ticketing system.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Class E State of Florida driver license
  • Must maintain active CJIS Security Awareness certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize database objects to meet user requirements.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain the performance of database servers and their related application servers.
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner.
  • Implement and follow policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the integrity and availability of systems.
  • Assist with designing, implementing, and managing maintenance plans for backups, database updates, etc. per industry best practices.
  • Create automations for repeating database tasks and monitor scheduled job execution.
  • Troubleshoot any errors that occur and monitor job performance.
  • Design and implement required integrations between databases.
  • Monitor integrations to ensure compliance with business processes and update integrations as necessary.
  • Design, create, and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Develop and document queries and routines to extract management information.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard system reports to ensure correct data relationships are represented.
  • Assist users with creation of ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Facilitate real-time and/or batch updating of data; test and correct data for inconsistencies, redundancies, and other undesirable states.
  • Analyze data anomalies and correct problems to ensure optimal performance and integrity of systems.
  • Provide necessary backup on-call and support coverage with little assistance in resolving problems.
  • Troubleshoot applications and maintain systems.
  • Provide system support documentation for future issue resolution.
  • Consult with software vendors regarding system functionality, enhancement requests, issues, and planning for upgrades and future releases.
  • Track issues, work performed, and outcomes in ticketing system.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation on processes, common issues, resolutions, etc.
