About The Position

We are seeking a Hybrid/Local TX Govt Application Architect with expertise in .Net/Java. This role involves working with C#, REST/SOAP/JSON/web services/RESTful, shell scripting, design patterns, SOA, DB2/SQL Server/Oracle, NASWA SIDES, and CI/CD experience. The position is located in Austin, TX (TWC) and is for a duration of 12 months. The architect will be responsible for enterprise-level application development, designing and implementing secure web services, managing electronic data exchanges, developing Unix/Linux shell scripts, and acting as a Technical Lead. This includes planning project roadmaps, organizing technical coordination, managing developer resources, establishing technical standards, performing code reviews, mentoring developers, and troubleshooting complex web environments and integration challenges.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-level application development using C#/.NET, Java Enterprise, or similar frameworks, specifically for building scalable web applications and services.
  • 4-7 years proven experience designing and implementing secure web services (REST, SOAP) and managing electronic data exchanges (XML, JSON) between disparate internal and external systems.
  • 4-7 years experience in developing, debugging, and modifying robust Unix/Linux shell scripts.
  • 4-7 years proven ability to act as a Technical Lead, including planning project roadmaps, organizing cross-departmental technical coordination, and managing developer resources across different project phases.
  • 4-7 years advanced knowledge of software architecture design patterns, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and security best practices for protecting data-in-transit.
  • 4-7 years experience establishing and leading technical standards, including performing code reviews, mentoring developers, and collaborating with QA teams on complex integration testing.
  • 4-7 years technical skills such as programming in certain coding languages, platforms, domains and troubleshooting, web development and database management.
  • 4-7 years expert troubleshooting skills in complex web environments, with the ability to resolve integration challenges between state systems and external brokers.
  • 4-7 years proficiency in creating high-level architectural artifacts, such as system diagrams, data flow models, and technical specifications to guide development.

Nice To Haves

  • More than one type of RDBMS (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Previous experience implementing or working with NASWA SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System) exchanges and technical specifications
  • Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the deployment and testing of complex application architectures.
  • Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting complex XML/SOAP and JSON/RESTful web services used in federal/state data exchanges.
  • Experience in application development, software engineering principles, design patterns, architecture styles, and quality attributes.
  • Texas Workforce Commission experience.
