About The Position

This classification performs responsible technical work supporting software applications and processes for the Town. This role involves close collaboration with departmental staff to understand their software needs, providing technical support, configuring and customizing software solutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The Analyst will also play a key role in implementing new software systems, training users, and documenting processes. Requirements

  • Proficiency in configuring and supporting specific software applications such as Laserfiche, Tyler New World, OpenGov Cartegraph, Microsoft 365, and other relevant systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with departmental staff at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions and exceptional customer service.
  • Experience utilizing JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL and the ability to apply this skill set effectively to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Possession of a valid NC driver's license and DCI background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a local government setting.
  • Knowledge of local government operations, policies, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain software applications used by different departments within the Town of Wake Forest, including but not limited to Laserfiche, Tyler New World, OpenGov Cartegraph, and Microsoft 365.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve software-related problems promptly.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to understand their software requirements and customize applications to meet their needs.
  • Configure software systems, including setting up user accounts, permissions, workflows, and integrations.
  • Assist in selecting, procuring, and implementing new software solutions, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for software applications, including user guides, training materials, and technical specifications.
  • Train users in software functionality, best practices, and new features to enhance their productivity.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in local government software applications.
