Application Analysts support the long-term goals of the Office of Administrative System Transformation (OAST) through consultation, process improvement, and digital transformation. They are responsible for providing functional expertise on OAST software applications, evaluating business processes, making recommendations, developing innovative solutions, and improving processes using digital standards and technology. This role supports software programs or modules across multiple business functions, understanding the business environment and the impact IT can have. They provide analysis and support for installed systems, as well as system implementation and integration projects, involving systems analysis, design, testing, and implementation. The goal is to optimize applications and end-to-end processes for efficiency and enhanced end-user experience. Analysts maintain knowledge of existing systems and core domain operations (e.g., Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Scheduling) and may be required to be certified in the vended application. They understand strategic product direction to inform product roadmaps and configure, design, develop, or modify applications using vendor or Mayo Clinic-developed tools, validating data integrity. They ensure system changes align with stakeholder needs and requirements, validating solutions for completeness, correctness, and clarity. The role provides software quality assurance services, ensuring regulatory compliance. They resolve customer problems, respond to enhancement requests, and provide content for FAQs, job aids, and training materials. Research requests to determine scope, size, and impact, and work with customers to elicit requirements are key functions. They act as a liaison between clinical, business, and technical areas throughout the system lifecycle and support data governance, reference data management, and data standards. Active participation in business meetings with various levels of stakeholders is expected, with the ability to translate technology insights to non-technical audiences. Building rapport with customers to understand their needs and managing small- to mid-sized projects are also part of the role. Contributions to software and end-to-end process testing activities are required. May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.
