About The Position

The specialist interacts with the customer by greeting and assisting them with their project while in the store or on the phone. It is a professional position requiring knowledge of the assigned department, personal skills such as communication, technical skills such as quoting, computer knowledge and specific product knowledge.

Requirements

• Basic education including the ability to competently read and write.
• General knowledge of the building industry.
• Some experience in selling/serving customers.
• Specific product knowledge is desirable.
• Limited computer skills are desirable, but not required.
• Work requires some physical effort; involves standing, much walking and medium lifting.
• Works in an air-conditioned environment as well as in a non-A/C controlled environment.
• This job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant medium work and occasional heavy work.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with their projects in-store or over the phone.
• Utilize technical skills for quoting.
• Apply specific product knowledge to assist customers.
