Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. The Team Leader supports the GSM / DM in achievement of Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage and Payroll Goals. They provide daily direction to the associates within the department, prepare to-do/task lists, and execute all merchandising directives. The role ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers, assists with staffing and training, and resolves customer and associate opportunities. The Team Leader maintains a high level of personal Customer Service, remains a Product "expert", and assists with coordination of special events, pricing, assortments, inventory accuracy, and display/signing/pricing of advertised items. They also assist the GSM / DM in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work, measuring and evaluating performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. The Team Leader provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting them in making buying decisions, identifying and evaluating needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. All other duties as assigned.
