Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. The Team Leader supports the GSM / DM in achievement of Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage and Payroll Goals. They provide daily direction to the associates within the department, prepare to-do/task lists, and execute all merchandising directives. The Team Leader ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers, assists with staffing and training, and coaches and motivates associates. They resolve customer and associate opportunities, maintain a high level of personal customer service, and remain a product expert through ongoing training. The Team Leader also assists with special events, pricing integrity, assortment determination, inventory accuracy, and display/signing/pricing of advertised items. They assist in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including interviewing, training, and performance management. The Team Leader provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting them in making buying decisions, identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting company programs.
